Speech to the Committees of the Rebellion of 2028 Made this day, February 4th in Winter, 2028 via R-Zoom on the Global Satellite Network
Good Evening, BSA,
This is Henry Samuels, Leader of the Resistance talking to you from the so-called “prison state” of. New York. Welcome to the members of the Committees to Plan the Rebellion. We are relying on the Rebel-Zoom system, which some tech friends assure us is safe and encrypted and is not yet in use by the CSA. May the force be with us.
We are repeating several unsavory parts of America’s history at this moment.
Somehow we have let a family led by a man, who thinks of himself as a King with Divine Rights, take over the United States of America, place states who angered him outside the union of states, and call the remaining states the Confederated States of America. In this way we are reminded of the Civil War when states who kept humans as slaves called themselves the Confederate States of America. The Black people who were brought here as slaves were freed when the USA, also known as the “Union” won the war. The Southern losers were not ever debased or mistreated and remained defiant and unbowed. They nursed thoughts of vengeance in their hearts and minds for well over a century. They never found it in their hearts to accept anyone whose roots were not in Europe as equal citizens of the USA. Although Donald Trump grew up in New York City he grew up as a white supremacist and he encouraged the resentments that white Americans kept alive.
We are at a moment which recalls both the Revolutionary War, which denied the right of Britain’s king to rule America, and the Civil War which brutally tore America apart. Our great nation was divided once over the issue of keeping slaves, while declaring that all men are created equal when our founders wrote the Declaration of
Independence and the US Constitution. It was divided with far more rancor – that of a nations divided against itself – that of brother against brother, blood and death spilled on our once united land, in the times of the Civil War.
I did not want us to have to go to war, to fight person to person, citizen to citizen to overthrow the Trump dynasty, even in order to reestablish the United States of America. You will be tasked with planning the strategies we will use to achieve our victory with the least possible bloodshed. What we have learned about the sad state of human rights for women and minorities in the white, male-dominated CSA should serve as the motivation for the coming upheavals we will all endure. Eddie Glaude, the respected Black President of Princeton University, talking in 2020 said, “we will have to decide, once and for all, whether we will be a multiracial democracy.” I do not accept the Confederated States of America as the last word on this matter.
In the words of a great philosopher, friend of our founders, and cheerleader for our emerging republic/democracy, Thomas Paine, who said it like this:
“These are the times that try men’s souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands by it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered. Yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: it is dearness only that gives everything its value. Heaven knows how to put a proper price upon its goods; and it would be strange indeed if FREEDOM should not be highly rated.”
So, work well together and tell us how you believe we can best win our freedom, and unity and equality; to let the United States of America rise again from this divided state and become the republic it was intended to be. You have your committee assignments. May you be inspired!
