Chapter 8
New York City
Don Jr. and Eric let themselves into their father’s apartment in Trump Towers. They were there to meet with Trump’s cronies, the ones they had invited. The meet was set for later that day in the conference room where they had met to lay their hands-on documents that were supposed to end Hillary’s run for the Presidency in 2016, where they met with Russians and triggered the Mueller Investigation into Russian interference in the election. Hopefully this meeting would go better than that previous one.
The meeting was scheduled for 3 pm. The brothers decided to make a splash. They hired a caterer to serve coffee and both savory and sweet amuse bouche. Everyone showed up. Mike Flynn was there, Roger Stone, Paul Manafort, Jim Jordan, Josh Hawley, Elise Stefanik, Anthony Scaramucci, Chris Christie and Matt Gaetz.
“I can’t believe they took Trump to Guantánamo,” Mike Flynn said. “We definitely have to go down there and get him.”
“Do you think they have the family in with the terrorists,” asked Elise.
Several voices at once said, “no.” We need to find out the layout of the base, Flynn said taking control. “Are there plans of the place that can be accessed by the public?” I’m thinking that the plans for the base are secret and we have no one on the inside in Washington right now.”
“We must still have someone still in place, hiding in plain sight,” Hawley said.
“This was the most thorough house-cleaning ever.” Trump had already cut agencies back to bare bones and then he gave all powers to the Evangelical Council and Washington was emptied out, except for a few martini guzzling Senators who were never consulted about anything, and the Department of Taxes which replaced the IRS,” Jordan said, and he had still been there in that lame Senate before they were all sent home, so he knew what was what.
Roger and Paul were there as money men, although it was unclear if Paul had ever recovered from the exposure of his financial messes. They were not big talkers but they were nodding their heads so they were probably in.
“We could send a drone over the area in Cuba with a camera that would send back pictures,” Flynn suggested. He was ex-military so it seemed as if he would be best at the logistics of this rescue.
“Where will we get a drone,” asked the Mooch. “I guess you can buy them, but to buy one that can travel to Cuba and back, that has a good camera, and that perhaps has a camera with night vision is probably very expensive. Then you need an expert to operate the drone. If we send it in daylight and anyone sees it who has a gun that very expensive piece of technology will probably be shot out of the sky.”
Elise Stefanik spoke up. “We have been able to identify some of the New Yorkers who are members of the Rebellion. Kidnapping Trump was only part of their plan. They intended to overthrow the Confederated States of America, even if there had to be a second Civil War. Fortunately for all of America, it did not come to all-out war. They got some help from the 10th Mountain Division at Fort Drum in my district, my former district, I mean. What if we kidnap one of those rebels, threaten their loved ones and force them to fly the drone for us. They had drones in the runup to the rebellion.”
“Bloodthirsty little thing, isn’t she,” Flynn said.
“I think that’s sexist,” the Mooch said.
“Maybe keep that plan for later,” said Flynn.
“We need some foot soldiers,” Roger Stone interjected. “None of us are likely to go around kidnapping people and threatening their families until they betray the rebellion, which they are unlikely to do. We must have someone on our side who knows their way around drones.”
“Militia members are being rounded up everywhere and being loaded on trains. Do you think they intend to execute them?” asked Stefanik.
“Apparently they have a plan to do some intensive deprogramming and reprogramming and turn them into some kind of environmentalists,” Flynn said.
That got a big reaction, laughs, expressions of astonishment, expressions of derision, and a general lightening of the mood. They all took a break and helped themselves to fresh coffee and some more of the excellent hor d’oeuvres. Some of them just wanted a water. Because of the items on the group’s agenda the caterers could not serve them. They just left the food and waited to come back later to clean up.
When everyone was settled again, Flynn mentioned that he knew of some militia members in Texas who hadn’t been spirited away yet. He also thought that there was at least one rogue army base in the CSA that still felt more loyalty to Trump than to the nearly dead original US Constitution.
“I’m going to assign Jim, Josh, and myself to see if we can put together a small infill force and a base that flies drones for reconnaissance.”
Don, Jr. stood and thanked everyone for coming and praised them for the progress they had made. “If Dad could see you guys it would lift him up,” he said. “How long do you guys need to find the team and an army base we can trust.?
Flynn said, “we’ll check back with you in two weeks and you can set up a new meet then. Paul and Roger, can you confer and see what kinds of funds you can come up with. It looks like we’ll need equipment.”
Everyone stood, there was some chatting and then they all left.
