Whenever someone says “Gun” in that particularly panicked tone of voice, and if the gun belongs to someone who is not white or is a peaceful demonstrator, something unacceptable happens. Remember the time an 11-year-old African American child was killed because he took an air gun to a park.

Remember how many times Americans of African descent were killed under similar circumstances. Someone loudly spoke one word, “Gun.”
Go to this link and you will find a list of Armed and Unarmed African Americans killed in 2014. It’s a long list. How many were killed because someone shouted “Gun”?

But every time there is a bill before Congress to pass a gun control law it either fails or is reversed at a later point. Republicans have insisted that the 2nd Amendment means that every adult America is entitled to own a gun or guns, no exceptions. So, when we learned about the guy who went to shop in Utah with his long gun over his shoulder, we also learned that a white guy could get away with open carry without hearing anyone cry “Gun!”

If you want the 2nd Amendment to apply to all Americans, you cannot be selectively alarmed when any non-white or any person at a peaceful demonstration has a gun. Those ICE agents did not wait even a minute between shouting “Gun,” displaying the gun and shooting Alex Pretti. I realize that adrenaline is a powerful hormone, but they had the gun. The man was disarmed.
So now the list of Americans who should not carry guns includes any person of color, any liberal, any white person who is labeled a “domestic terrorist” by any of Trump’s troops, and sometimes even people without a gun who are trying to protect their neighbors.
And so ends the 2nd Amendment rights of those on the wrong side of the divide in America. Be careful out there.
